Eat the Suburbs! website
Welcome to the Eat the Suburbs! website. It isn't much yet. But one day in the not too distant future it will hopefully become a community hub for co-ordinating the research and ideas for an Energy Descent Action Plan (EDAP) most likely for Moreland and/or Darebin (municipalities within the city of Melbourne, Australia) or particular suburbs within them. This front page is a blog, where you'll be able to check out our progress, photos and ideas as we go.
To find out more check out our EDAP primer.
This website isn't the work of a an established group (although several groups are expressing interest in the concept). The plans are still embryonic. If you're already here, there's a very good chance that these ideas excite you. In which case you should get in contact!!
This site also hosts a 'wiki' (under development) which is a place where people involved in the EDAP can structure and develop these ideas, and work towards a coherent plan.
We can also host mailing lists for groups involved in aspects of the EDAPs or other relocalisation projects. If you'd like a list set up, email adam (at) eatthesuburbs.org

Collaboration-one the sweetest things known to workers and players the whorled over! Hey, what say we collaborate with local businesses by setting up community gardens that are nourished by food scraps from restaurants and cafes and then supply these same places with the fresh in-conversion-organic produce? Collaborate with Natural Event composting toilet Co. to incorporate human waste back into the cycle? I say give it a year and we could be on this!
